Family Involvement
How Can You Support Desert Trails?
Desert Trails Elementary welcomes the active participation of parents, grandparents and community members. We believe that children flourish in an academic environment that unites home and school. This supports student enrichment and achievement with a goal of providing the best possible education for each student.
There are many ways to get involved including working as a classroom helper, member of the PTO, field trip chaperone, school council member, and many other opportunities. We encourage you to get involved.
Visitor Guidelines for Operational Hours
All visitors are to report to the administration office as follows:
- All visitors, including parent/guardian, must sign in and out at the administration office
- All visitors are to wear an identifiable visitor badge while on campus to be returned when signing out
- Administration may refuse a visitor that may cause additional supervision or raise a safety concern
- Visitors, unless for a scheduled meeting, are not to enter the campus before or after school and may be directed to leave the interior of the campus
Parent-Teacher Organization
The Desert Trails Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to enriching the school experience for our students.
Our programs and fundraisers provide students with an array of opportunities that would not otherwise be open to them. We support programs ranging from arts enrichment to teacher continuing education to providing our school nurse with supplies.
We are fortunate to live in a community that is able to invest in students. Please join us as we strive to put every dollar to work to make our school the very best. Our work begins where the school budget ends!
United Parent Council (UPC)
UPC is a district-wide parent group that has been active in Paradise Valley Unified School District for more than 30 years and is a 501(c)(3) organization. Looking out for the interest of students is our primary goal. We do this by offering parents support, information, and opportunities to be influential voices in the decisions that affect their children's education.
