Meryl Warda Bio
Hi, my name is Meryl Warda and I am so happy to be your Social Worker at Desert Trails. I fully believe social and emotional wellness is the foundation for a child's ability to learn in school.
If children become self-regulated and manage their own emotions and interactions, they will succeed in school, work and relationships. I also believe in the importance of building resilience in children and families particularly for the difficult times we are in right now. All of this allows for an increase in a child's ability to function in the classroom, improve academic performance, have better peer relationships and improved classroom behavior. Everything I do with children and families is through a relationship based and trauma informed lens.
I have a BA in Psychology and a Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University. In 2018, I received my post graduate certificate from the Harris Institute in Infant/Toddler Mental Health. This allows me to look at the child and how their relationships with their parents and teachers can be strengthened as well as how the relationship is impacting them.
